As a Senior Financial Planner for Pure Financial Advisors, Hillel takes the time to listen and guide individuals, families, professionals, and small business owners towards achieving their financial and holistic life goals. He acts as a sounding board and will help coordinate communication among financial professionals (CPA, Attorney, and other trusted Advisors) to achieve an integrated financial plan with the objective of a better outcome for mutual clients.
Prior to joining Pure Financial Advisors, Hillel served clients through a financial planning and investment advisory practice that he owned and managed.
Hillel earned his undergraduate degree in Economics and Business Administration from Muhlenberg College in Allentown, Pennsylvania. He earned his MBA with distinction from Pace University in New York City, with concentrations in Finance and Marketing Management.
As a lifelong learner, Hillel is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional since 1992 and past president of the Financial Planning Association (San Diego chapter) in 2008. His former NASD licenses include General Securities Principal (Series 24), Registered Representative (Series 7, 63), and is currently an Investment Advisor Representative (Series 66).
He developed an active listening program called Our Little Blue Box to encourage respectful and intentional communication for families.
Originally from Cape Town, South Africa, Hillel was a Rotary Youth Exchange Program student and was placed in Hampton, Iowa where he graduated from High School. He has two adult children and lives in Cardiff-by-the-sea with his wife.
After pulling too many muscles running Master Track and Field sprint events, he discovered open water swimming as a great way to exercise. Most early mornings, you can catch him ocean swimming with swim groups in Del Mar, Solana Beach, Encinitas, and La Jolla.
